Land Cruiser 300 tires: 265/65R18 and 265/55R20 are almost the same height
Toyota gave the 300 two factory tire packages and kept their rolling diameter almost the same. The 3.3 diesel and the 3.5 twin-turbo V6 use 265/65R18 on a 7.5-inch-wide, 18-inch rim. ZX and GR Sport use 265/55R20 on an 8-inch-wide, 20-inch rim.\n\nA 265/65R18 is about 802 mm tall. A 265/55R20 is about 800 mm tall. Switching between those two factory markings moves the speedometer by a fraction of a percent. A taller all-terrain on a 20-inch rim does not get that free pass: extra sidewall adds diameter the factory pair does not have.\n\nBoth packages sit at ET60, so the tire is pulled in compared with a 200-series wheel and with a Prado 150. Start from the marking on the row for your grade, then check the load index. This is a heavy vehicle; a passenger-car load rating is the wrong tire even when the numbers on the sidewall look close.\n\nThe catalog rows list 33 psi. Use the placard in the door opening for your market before you set pressure.

FAQ
- What tire is stock on a Land Cruiser 300?
- 265/65R18 on the 3.3 D and 3.5 V6. ZX and GR Sport are 265/55R20.

- No. 265/55R20 needs a 20-inch rim. The overall diameters match; the bead seats do not.
- Will a taller mud-terrain throw the speedometer off?
- Yes, once the overall diameter leaves the factory height near 800 mm. Compare the marking in the calculator on this site before you buy.
